Hemco is certified to ISO 27001 and ISO 50001 - what this means for our partners and customers?

We're proud to announce that Hemco operates in accordance with ISO 27001 (information security management) and ISO 50001 (energy management), alongside our existing ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, EcoVadis, and NATO AQAP 2110 certifications. 

Both certificates were awarded and are confirmed through independent external audits, and are maintained through regular annual audits, meaning this isn't a one-time badge, but a system that is continuously verified. 

It's easy for what really matters to partners and customers to get lost behind these abbreviations, so here's an overview of what each certificate means in practice and why it's relevant to you. 

ISO 27001 - data security isn't just an IT issue 

ISO 27001 is the international standard for information security management systems. In practice, this means we have clearly defined processes for protecting data - from product technical specifications and price lists, through contracts, to the personal data of employees and customers. 

Why does this matter to partners? For many larger companies and public procurers, ISO 27001 today isn't a "bonus" - it's a prerequisite for entering into a serious business relationship, especially when a supplier shares technical documentation, internal specifications, or order data. The certificate gives them a demonstrable, audited system instead of just our word because a third-party auditor confirms the processes genuinely exist and are followed. 

Why does this matter to customers? Every order, inquiry, or complaint passes through systems that protect their data according to defined protocols. That means less risk of errors in data processing and storage, and greater transparency in communication. 

ISO 50001 - energy efficiency as tangible savings 

ISO 50001 certifies an energy management system: continuous monitoring, measurement, and improvement of energy efficiency in production. For a company producing protective and work clothing in large volumes, this is directly tied to costs, but also to the footprint we leave behind. 

Why does this matter to partners? More and more corporate customers and partners have their own ESG targets and must report on the sustainability of their supply chain. In addition, EU Directive 2023/1791 increasingly requires production facilities with higher energy consumption to implement a certified energy management system - a trend that will only intensify in the coming years. When they work with a supplier that already holds ISO 50001, it makes their own reporting and proof of responsible sourcing easier, since they don't have to guess, they have a document. 

Why does this matter to customers? A stable, optimized production process also means more stable pricing and delivery times. We're less exposed to sudden spikes in energy costs that would otherwise be passed on to product prices. 

Taken together, these two certificates demonstrate systematic management
